Psychiatric services are provided at Solstice RTC on a contractual basis. The cost of these services is not included in our per diem rate. Not all residents require these services on a regular basis, so these services are provided as needed. Dr. Rick Jackson provides psychiatric services for Solstice residents. We take a very conservative approach to using medication interventions. We only suggest the use of medications when the treatment team deems it necessary. Parents and residents are always involved in discussions about medications before any prescriptions are made.

Often young ladies will come to Solstice already taking an array of prescribed psychotropic medications. Our philosophy is to use as little medication as possible and only what is deemed necessary. We tend to work on reducing reliance on medications as much as possible, and always include parents and residents in the discussion of any medication changes before changes are made.
